69th National Convention for Aotearoa
The 69th New Zealand Bahá'í National Convention, 182 B.E., is taking place from 25 to 27 April at Te Whare Akoranga Bahá'í. This year, as was the case last year, the National Assembly extends a circumscribed invitation to observers. Because of the venue’s very limited capacity, the main hall can only accommodate those who are actually participating in the Convention, namely the Counsellor, delegates, National Assembly members, Auxiliary Board members, representatives of the Regional Bahá’í Councils, the coordinator of the Office of Public Affairs, and a few others invited by the National Spiritual Assembly due to their institutional roles or special functions at the Convention.
For visitors wishing to observe, please note the important information in the notice below.
Space is limited
Please note that space at the convention venue is extremely limited. Due to both legal capacity restrictions and logistical considerations, the venue can only accommodate a few observers in 2 classrooms upstairs. Additionally, it is important to anticipate parking challenges, as availability for onsite parking is limited. For those observers whose registrations are accepted, we strongly recommend utilising public transport, Uber services, or carpooling to ease parking challenges.
Audio feed
Observers will be able to hear the Convention proceedings via an audio feed (possibly a video feed) in the rooms on the upper level. There will be opportunities to mingle fully with all participants during meal and refreshment breaks.
Apply to attend
To assist with our planning, we ask that individuals wishing to attend as observers provide us with prior notice and pre-register. This will greatly aid us in organising the event effectively and ensuring that all attendees have an enjoyable experience. Early registration is encouraged as without it we cannot guarantee space due to capacity limitations.
The online registration for observers is open and all Bahá'ís in good standing are welcome to register to attend the National Convention as day visitor observers at this link: Observer Registration
Please note that if observers wish to enjoy the catering, they MUST pre-register by Tuesday 22 April.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. By registering in advance and understanding the limitations of observer participation, we can ensure that all those attending and the friends who are tasked with organisational aspects for the Convention, are not faced with undue challenges.
