Insights and friendship through study circles

A group of eight Bahá’ís from the Coastal Otago cluster have been studying Book 9, Unit 1 called “Gaining an Historical Perspective: The Eternal Covenant”. A large portion of the book focuses on the qualities of God, and how we experience these with both our inner and outer faculties – God is All-Knowing, All-Bountiful, Most Generous, All-Merciful, and All-Powerful. As one member of the group said, studying this book made her better understand and appreciate why so many Bahá’í prayers refer to these qualities. The group met regularly once a week, starting in September, and completed three to four sections each week, finishing the book in early November. At the last session the tutor, Murray Skeaff, provided each participant with a hand-painted card and personalised message highlighting the unique qualities that person brought to the study circle. Book 9, Unit 2, “Gaining an Historical Perspective: Passage to Maturity” has already arrived and the group starts studying it next week!
