National Assembly officers elected

National Assembly officers elected

A letter from the National Spiritual Assembly to institutions and believers in Aotearoa New Zealand on 28 April 2020 (the Ninth Day of Ridván).

Very dear friends,

The National Spiritual Assembly was able to hold the election of its officers at its first meeting where all nine members were present together online, using a system of online voting that adhered to principles of confidentiality. The outcome of the election is as follows:

  • Chair: Mr Vahid Qualls

  • Vice-Chair: Mrs Huti Watson

  • Secretary: Mrs Suzanne Mahon

  • Treasurer: Mr Marc Rivers

The National Spiritual Assembly pays loving tribute to the capable and self-sacrificing work carried out by Mrs Shiva Kolodner, the outgoing National Treasurer, who in the past few years in the role has strategically and systematically steered the National Treasury Department in a very positive direction, which stands it in very good stead for the future. Her loving accompaniment of Regional and Local Treasurers in their roles has increasingly been bringing the entire system of the management of Bahá’í Funds in Aotearoa into a coherent framework. As a member of this institution, Shiva will continue to play a significant role in this ongoing process.

The National Spiritual Assembly will this week be advising all Local Spiritual Assemblies about their election of officers for the new term, and providing them with information regarding this process.

With loving Holy Day wishes to you all on this 9th Day of Ridván.

Much love,
National Spiritual Assembly
