Seeking heavenly aid for herculean effort
The confirmations of Him Who is the Ever-Forgiving have wrapped every clime in light, the armies of the Company on high are rushing forward to do battle at the side of the friends of the Lord and carry the day...
— ‘Abdu’l-Bahá
For the month of Kamál (31 July to 18 August) the friends in Aotearoa are invited to join hearts in a prayer campaign in support of victory for the goals of the Five Year Plan. In a letter attached (see adjacent button), the National Spiritual Assembly calls for the friends’ wholehearted participation.
The National Assembly has called for these focused collective prayers as we enter the final few historic months of the Plan — at a time when the world’s need for spiritual guidance has never been more apparent. May your prayers be offered for every cluster in the country to move forward on the pathway of its development, but particularly those nine clusters yet to reach the second milestone of having an intensive programme of growth, as listed by the National Assembly in its recent video message titled “Herculean Effort”, in which the national institution stated:
In 10 months, at Ridván, the current Five Year Plan will come to a close. But this is not just an end to this Plan, It is the capping of 20 years of effort — four consecutive Five Year Plans that have all had the same goal: advancing the process of entry by troops. On top of that, it will also be the year we commemorate the 100th anniversary of the passing of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá. The Universal House of Justice describes this final period of time before the end of the Plan as “...the concluding act in a captivating drama whose end is yet unwritten.”
The friends are invited to consider using in their daily prayers one of the following prayers dedicated to this specific purpose:
“The Fire Tablet” by Bahá’u’lláh.
Prayer revealed by ‘Abdu’l-Bahá to the Bahá’ís of the United States and Canada from the Tablets of the Divine Plan: “O Thou incomparable God! O Thou Lord of the Kingdom….”
The prayer by ‘Abdu’l-Bahá beginning: “Thou seest me, O my God, bowed down in lowliness, humbling myself before Thy commandments, submitting to Thy sovereignty …”
“Prayer for the Pacific” by ‘Abdu’l-Bahá.
‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s Tablet of Visitation.
This selection of prayers is included in the attached file (“Prayer cards”), which can be printed to make handy cards for each prayer. A second file (“Prayer booklet”) contains the prayers presented on A5 pages, suitable for printing as a booklet.
The “Prayer for the Pacific” sung in te reo Māori (with words and guitar chords onscreen) is presented below. The words in te reo are also contained in the attached booklet and prayer cards files.
