Elegant new booklet about the beloved Master
A beautiful booklet about the beloved Master, commissioned by the National Spiritual Assembly, is now available.
Entitled ‘Abdu’l-Bahá: The Perfect Exemplar, the new booklet has been designed and printed in the same style and high quality format as the booklets about the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh that were produced for their bicentenary years (see photo above).
The three booklets together make a matching set that is ideal for introducing the Central Figures of the Faith to interested people in the wider society, and helping to generate meaningful conversations in the period leading up to the Centenary commemorations in November.
Furthermore, the National Assembly hopes that ‘Abdu’l-Bahá: The Perfect Exemplar will give additional stimulus to the “profound reflection on the life of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá” that the Universal House of Justice has called on the friends to engage in this year.
Eager to see the booklets well-utilised, the National Assembly is making them available through the Bahá’í Distribution Service (BDS) as follows:

Richly illustrated with historical photographs, this elegant booklet tells the story of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s life and service to humanity, and the shining legacy He has left. It describes His role as “Perfect Exemplar” of Bahá’u’lláh’s Teachings and the Centre of His Covenant. It recounts His travels to the West, His humanitarian efforts during the First World War, and many other remarkable achievements. It concludes with a selection of inspiring quotations from His Writings.
The opportunity is taken here to remind readers about the importance of keeping a record of the number of people you converse with about the life of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá and His centenary, as a contribution to the national goal of 30,000 souls meaningfully engaging with this centenary year. (The goal is explained in the National Assembly’s letter to the friends in Aotearoa dated 24 June 2021.)
As our national community gathers momentum in its efforts to befittingly honour the Master this year, the National Assembly hopes that The Perfect Exemplar booklet will prove to be an effective and stimulating resource.
Note: another book available on the BDS website also has the title ‘Abdu’l-Bahá: The Perfect Exemplar. This other book, by Dariush Lamy, 350 pages in length, gives a more detailed account of the life, service, and Writings of the Master.
