2022 Bahá’í Summer School
This year’s Summer School will use the same format as for the previous two years - a mixture of online presentations, and gatherings at the local level.
Drawing on the experience of the conferences held earlier in the year, the National Assembly intends that these gatherings be welcoming to all - offering an opportunity to explore together how Bahá’í teachings and concepts can be applied in an ever-changing and challenging world - as well as to experience a vibrant community in spaces that utilise local resources and people.
Dates and format
The dates for the summer school period nationwide are 27, 28, 29, 30 December. There will be pre-recorded presentations made available as in the past with workshop materials based on some of these. These will be made available widely prior to the summer school, rather than being streamed “live”, thereby enabling friends to download the videos before their local events, avoiding internet connectivity problems on the day.
Gatherings at all levels
The National Spiritual Assembly anticipates gatherings of varying sizes in all regions, including groups of families, local communities, neighbourhoods, sectors or clusters. Nationally produced content will support the local programmes, and those holding gatherings are invited to consider other aspects of the programme, particularly in terms of incorporating arts activities and activities for children and junior youth. There is no prescription about the size of the gathering, and friends are free to start planning, bearing in mind that the size and ‘reach’ of the gathering may be best organised around where it can best relate and contribute in a meaningful way to community-building activities in the locality.
A media team is arranging the logistics for pre-recording presentations.
Theme of the summer school: Paving the Path to Human Upliftment
The programme will build further on the themes of the conferences and more details about the programme will soon be shared.
The National Assembly eagerly looks forward to the involvement of all the friends in a vibrant and meaningful Summer School throughout the country.
