New stock in BDS and 'Gift Card' feature

The New Zealand Bahá'í Distribution Service (BDS) has received a range of new stock, including the “must read” For the Betterment of the World (2023 edition). This book was released to delegates as a gift during the Bahá'í International Convention earlier this year. It describes social action by the worldwide Bahá'í community in a way that illuminates our understanding of the approach to working alongside others in harmonising spiritual and material progress.

A new offering at the BDS are ‘Gift Cards’. This additional feature provides individuals with an opportunity to share with others the array of literature available through the Bahá'í bookshop.

Outlined below are these items and a range of calendars that are now available for purchase.

For the Betterment of the World, 2023

This publication, prepared by the Bahá'í International Development Organization at the Baha'i World Centre, provides an illustration of how Bahá'í social and economic development is being carried out. It casts light on the efforts of the Bahá'í community, together with social actors from all walks of life, to contribute to material and social progress.

The Bahá’í community’s commitment to social and economic development is rooted in its sacred scriptures, which state that all human beings “have been created to carry forward an ever-advancing civilization.” Fundamental to Bahá’í belief is the conviction that every person, every people, every nation has a part to play in building a peaceful and prosperous global society.
