Unit Conventions 2024: Table of Unit Information
Annually, Bahá’ís participate in unit conventions in a secret ballot to elect delegates, who in turn are entrusted with the responsibility of electing the nine individuals to serve on the National Spiritual Assembly. All adult Bahá’ís in good standing, aged 18 or older, have the privilege to vote in these unit elections, and become eligible to be voted for from the age of 21. It is a sacred privilege to elect delegates for the National Convention and for those who are elected as delegates to embrace this annual opportunity to engage with their fellow delegates in consultation on topics of national importance with the National Spiritual Assembly at the National Convention held during the Ridván period.
As we approach the 2024 unit conventions (180 B.E.) set to unfold across Aotearoa New Zealand on Sunday, 11 February, the Bahá’í National Office has collated information for each unit to assist participation in this significant event, and for those unable to attend in person, to have details of where to send their ballots.
Click on the button below to view a comprehensive table of information that serves as your reference for the upcoming unit conventions. This table shares important details such as localities in each unit, host Assemblies (listed boldly), unit convention times and locations, the number of delegates to be voted for in each unit, names of Head Tellers, and addresses for sending postal ballots.
Special note for Institute Campaigns and ISGP Seminars:
Some friends may be engaged in institute campaigns and ISGP seminars on the weekend of the 11th February 2024. To accommodate these wonderful commitments, these friends are urged to cast a postal vote (or provide the head teller with an absentee ballot) in order to fulfil their sacred responsibility.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to the National Office or your local host Assembly.
Please note that it is the understanding of the National Office that those head tellers whose addresses are provided in the table have given their permission for this.
