The New Zealand Baha’i community has a long history with Papua New Guinea, with many New Zealand believers pioneering and travel-teaching there, including the first to go, Mr Rodney Hancock. A number of these friends will be attending this special dedication. In addition, Dr Audrey Aumua, a niece of Rodney, is officially representing the National Spiritual Assembly of New Zealand, and Mrs Penina Hitti and Mr Michael Vaughan are the official representatives of the Baha’i community of Aotearoa.

This momentous occasion in our region, being the first national Baha’i House of Worship in the Australasian region, is a testament to the devoted efforts of the friends in Papua New Guinea who have demonstrated such consecration to our Faith, making sacrifices to serve selflessly to bring many souls to the Revelation of Baha’u’llah.

Baha’i Aotearoa looks forward to bringing news and images from the dedication to our readers in the near future.
