Thoughtful reflections on the evolution of the global Bahá’í community

The Bahá’í World Volume XXXV was recently published in book form, offering a collection of thoughtful reflections on the evolution and growing capacity of the Bahá’í community across the globe.

In the coming weeks, a Special Collection of selected articles from this volume will be released in both written and audio formats on The Bahá’í World website. These articles, drawn from the section "Elements of a Global Spiritual Endeavor," provide broad yet insightful glimpses into the progress made since 1996, and the lessons learned along the way. They are offered with humility, and with deep appreciation for all those who, past and present, have worked tirelessly for a more just and united world.

Now Available: A Global Community

The first article in this new series, A Global Community, reflects on how the Bahá’í community has responded to the guidance of the Universal House of Justice over the last few decades. It highlights the emergence of coherent patterns of action, the importance of learning in diverse contexts, and the ways in which a global process of transformation has taken root in local realities.

Decades later, we can see these efforts continue to drive the Bahá’í community forward, and this perspective continues to resonate deeply with these words from the most recent message of the Universal House of Justice - Riḍván 2025:

“The Nine Year Plan relies on a vast, global process of learning that is as effective in the highlands of Bolivia as in the suburbs of Sydney. This process of learning has given rise to strategies and actions adaptable to every setting. It is systematic; it is organic; it is all-embracing... It raises up communities that brim with potential.”
