Service in the National Treasury Team
The Bahá’í National Office is seeking a trustworthy and detail-oriented Cashier to join our Treasury Team. This role is vital in supporting the financial stewardship of the Bahá’í community in Aotearoa New Zealand, ensuring that contributions and resources are handled with care, transparency, and integrity.

Key Responsibilities
Receive, record, and process incoming contributions (cash and electronic).
Issue receipts and acknowledgments in a timely and respectful manner.
Prepare and manage bank deposits securely and accurately.
Receive, record, and process incoming invoices
Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with internal procedures.
Support the annual audit process and ensure compliance with financial policies.
Perform data entry and document filing related to treasury operations.
Respond to inquiries regarding contributions and financial transactions.
Collaborate with other institutions to ensure smooth financial workflows.
Handle all financial matters with the utmost integrity and confidentiality.
Skills
Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy to handle financial transactions with precision.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
A good understanding of accounting basics and principles.
The preference is for a person who can serve in the National Office in Newmarket, Auckland, although there may be flexibility for the successful applicant to work from home for a portion of the time. The National Assembly will consider arrangements on a case-by-case basis, including the number of hours of availability by the applicant. Remuneration will be determined by agreement, based on the needs of the individual.
Anyone with a desire to serve the Faith, even if you do not feel you have all of the required capacities listed above, and even if you can give only 10 or 15 hours of service per week, is urged to express an interest.
