A treasured resource arrives in New Zealand
In July 2025, the Universal House of Justice announced the gift of Bahá’í Sacred Writings—a new publication released to coincide with the Holy Day commemorating the Martyrdom of the Blessed Báb. Described as a resource to support the process of growth unfolding in neighbourhoods, clusters and villages around the world, the publication brings together a comprehensive collection of selections from the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh and the Writings and utterances of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, including new translations not previously published.
We are delighted to share that this long-awaited volume is now available in New Zealand through the Bahá’í Distribution Service.
On 29 July 2026, the National Spiritual Assembly wrote to all Local Spiritual Assemblies and Bahá’í groups announcing the arrival of the publication and encouraging the friends to become familiar with its contents and draw upon it freely in every aspect of their spiritual lives and service. The Assembly expressed the hope that Bahá’í Sacred Writings would find a place in every Bahá’í home, serving as a constant companion for personal study, devotional gatherings, institute courses, Holy Days, Feasts, and community-building efforts.
Beautifully produced as a 526-page hardback (flexibound) volume, the book contains 257 selections from the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh and 241 selections from the Writings and utterances of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, including several excerpts published in English for the first time. Together, these selections provide a broad and accessible overview of the Revelation of Bahá’u’lláh and the illuminating explanations of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá.
