Regional Councils gathering generates fresh energy

Members of the two Regional Bahá’í Councils gathered in Auckland last weekend to engage in learning and consulting with Counsellor Tessa Scrine and the National Spiritual Assembly.

The Regional Councils for the North and South Islands perform a critical role in fostering the work of the Divine Plan. The learning, reflections and deliberations at the recent gathering have created a foundation for the Councils’ activities in their new term, beginning on the Day of the Covenant, this year on 26 November.

The gathering, from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 November, manifested the great vitality and enthusiasm that Council members are bringing to their service. The National Assembly described the gathering as energising, joyful and constructive.

Such a gathering is held each year for reviewing progress and looking ahead regarding the expansion and consolidation of the Faith in Aotearoa New Zealand. It is generally one of the few times in the annual calendar when the members of both Councils come together.
