A call to strengthen the National Fund

A call to strengthen the National Fund

The National Spiritual Assembly wrote to the Bahá’ís of Aotearoa on 5 September 2025 to share an update on the National Fund. Since Riḍván, contributions have increased by 12% compared to last year, marking the highest sustained level ever received between Riḍván and August. Participation is also growing, with funds directed to vital activities such as international pioneering, strengthening the Training Institute, and supporting Regional Councils and agencies.

Yet, expenditures have risen by 17%, creating challenges for cash flow and for the repayment of the remaining $1.35 million of the loan given by the Universal House of Justice a few years ago. However, a letter written to the New Zealand National Spiritual Assembly on behalf of the Supreme Institution in March this year stated the following encouraging words:

"...the surge in activities that you expect in the coming months and years will require significant financial resources. To ensure that the national and regional institutions have sufficient resources to carry out their responsibilities without interruption, that funds reach the cluster agencies in a timely manner, and that offers to serve full-time as pioneers or on regional and cluster agencies are expeditiously channelled, resources beyond what is currently available through your National Fund are required. Yet, the House of Justice is confident that your community has the capacity to provide all that is needed."

Friends are warmly invited to engage in conversations about the Fund at Feasts, within families, and in local communities—reflecting on the joy, generosity, sacrifice, and universal participation that imbue our giving with spiritual power.
