Update on receipts for payments of Ḥuqúqu’lláh

"It is incumbent upon everyone to discharge the obligation of Ḥuqúq. The advantages gained from this deed revert to the persons themselves. However, the acceptance of the offerings dependeth on the spirit of joy, fellowship and contentment that the righteous souls who fulfil this injunction will manifest. If such is the attitude, acceptance is permissible and not otherwise. Verily thy Lord is the All-Sufficing, the All-Praised."

Baha'u'llah

#11 from the Compilation of Huquq'llah

Dear friends,

We would like to share an update regarding receipts for payments of Ḥuqúqu’lláh.

Previously, an acknowledgement was issued for each payment, and some friends had indicated that they preferred not to receive these notices. Following guidance from the Office of Ḥuqúqu’lláh, a receipt is now issued for every payment made. These receipts are provided for your personal records and are issued on behalf of the Universal House of Justice. Please note that individual payment receipts are not intended for tax purposes.

At the end of each New Zealand financial year (31 March), friends who have made payments of Ḥuqúqu’lláh will receive an official IRD receipt from the National Spiritual Assembly. This receipt includes the National Assembly’s Tax Identification Number and reflects the total amount contributed during the financial year. It may be used for tax deduction purposes in accordance with government regulations.

If you had previously indicated that you did not wish to receive acknowledgements or receipts for each payment, but would now like to receive the receipts issued on behalf of the Universal House of Justice for your personal records, you are warmly invited to write to rightofgod@bahai.org.nz and indicate your preference.

With loving greetings,
Trustees of the Board of Huququ'llah for Micronesia and Polynesia
