New publication of Bahá’í Sacred Writings

As the Twin Holy Birthdays for The Báb and Bahá'u'lláh draw near, the National Spiritual Assembly has offered some further information about the new publication of the Bahá'í Sacred Writings. 

Although this new publication is currently only available to read on the Bahá'í Reference Library site (Bahá'í Sacred Writings), the friends are urged to have a sense of anticipation and reverence about the precious nature of the work. When the published version in book form is made available, it will reflect a standard of quality befitting such an extensive repository of the Writings.  This is to be a holy book that will eclipse many of the other published versions of extracts of the Writings, because it is a significant book containing a much larger volume of the Revelation. It will be distinguished from other publications in that it will become not only a precious holy book but will become “core literature” of the Bahá'í Faith for reference purposes.

Because of the special nature of this publication, it will be important that the widest possible number of people have access to it. Conversations about the publication at Nineteen Day Feasts can generate a sense of anticipation. It will be important for all members serving on institutions and agencies at national, regional, cluster and local levels to have a copy, and if affordability is an issue, ways and means must be found to overcome any such obstacles. The friends should prepare themselves to purchase a copy when it is made available, and for those who cannot afford it, ways will be found for support to be offered so they can acquire one. For every individual connected with the Faith - whether enrolled Bahá'í or not - to have this significant volume on hand, is the hope and aim of the National Spiritual Assembly. For friends to familiarise themselves with its contents and draw on it freely and fully, is the expectation. For those studying any of the institute courses, it would be a most valuable resource to support this study and will reinforce all of the teaching work being undertaken.

In due course, a translation into Te Reo would be undertaken.
