As the new year begins, friends are reminded that updated letters are now available outlining the Bahá’í Holy Days observed during the year.
These letters have been prepared for sharing with employers, schools, tertiary institutions, or training providers, to support requests for leave or special consideration on days that are sacred to the Bahá’í community. They are offered as a practical resource to assist friends in planning ahead and communicating these observances respectfully and clearly. In these letters, the National Spiritual Assembly provides a list of Bahá’í Holy Days in 2026, along with an explanation of their significance. They may be used by the friends when requesting time off in order to observe these important days on our calendar, in accordance with the laws of the Faith.
Bahá’í Holy Days hold a central place in the spiritual life of the community. On nine of these days each year, work is suspended and participation in gatherings and remembrance is encouraged. Sharing this letter early in the year can help foster understanding and support within workplaces and educational settings.
Friends are welcome to download and share these letters as needed.
